Udaipur Farmversity

This initiative was set up in 2021 by Sakib. Sakib grew up in the back alleys of Jama Masjid. He discovered his passion for farming as a student at Creativity Adda. He later learned permaculture with Narsanna at Aranya Alternative and Edible Routes in Hyderabad. He is a musician, permaculture designer, theatre artist, trekker, upcycler, chef. The Udaipur Farmversity seeks to bring organic and natural farming to urban areas. We convert farm houses and rooftop terraces around the city to organic and natural farms.  We have setup a permaculture demo farm, nursery and training workshops in the central jail in collaboration with the Swaraj Jail University. We have set up a demo urban permaculture farm in Shikshantar. We have supported a permaculture learning program in collaboration with the Swaraj Shakti Tribal Girls Fellowship program. We have been conducting research on forest seeds and native species, eco-building techniques.
